Former fishermen turned guardians lead small groups to swim alongside Caribbean reef sharks in their natural habitat. Wild, unbothered, entirely in their element — no cages, no bait, no spectacle.
The safari opens with a science briefing: how these animals behave, why they pose no threat under these conditions, and how to position yourself in the water. Then the guides — who have known these sharks for decades, first as prey and now as heritage — take you to the encounter points.
Every peso from this tour funds shark monitoring programs and active marine conservation in the region. It's snorkeling, not diving: no prior experience required. Minimum 4 people.

Frequently asked questions
Is it dangerous?
Caribbean reef sharks don't see humans as prey. Following the briefing protocol — distance, calm, positioning — the encounter is safe and respectful. There has never been an incident on our outings.
Are shark sightings guaranteed?
They're wild, free animals: the sighting rate is high but not absolute. If the day brings no encounters, the guides make up for it at the area's best marine-life spots.
Do I need to know how to dive?
No — it's surface snorkeling. You need basic swimming and comfort in open water; the life jacket and guide do the rest.
Is there a minimum age?
Yes, 13 years old, always accompanied by a responsible adult.
Is food included?
Drinks are included. You can add a gourmet upgrade of lobster, fish, or ceviche for an extra $900 MXN per person, paid on-site.
Why does it cost more than other tours?
Small minimum group with specialized ex-fishermen guides, a science briefing, and because part of the price directly funds shark monitoring and conservation in the region.
